Peach Cobbler that is Eazy Breazy? Yes it is!

My Great Grandmother used to make cobblers all the time. I grew up making the biscuit like crust that was pieced together like an old quilt. Carefully the dough was wrapped around fresh fruit. The juices bubbled through the slit on top. Ahh.. Be still my beating heart!

Add a scoop of ice cream to the top of the warm cobbler, fresh from the oven and I am serious, I think I heard angels singing!

Well, this cobbler is a bit different. Instead of a biscuit dough it is more like a thick batter that floats to the top when it is being baked, allowing the juices to really infuse the crust.

Totally worth trying. I mean how can you go wrong with fresh peaches, flour and butter!

This is what Center Cut has to say about their recipe.

You gotta love those classic flavors. Peach Cobbler is about as classic as it gets.

Quick Tip: If you want to cut back on the sugar just add half a cup. Some fruit is sweeter than others so not as much is needed.

If there is something called PEACH brain. I must have it!

Every time I see a new recipe for something with fresh peaches in it I just start to drool! This recipe is one that really caught my eye.

I have passed up a lot of recipes that call for puff pastry. It kind of feels like cheating to just unroll something and bake it. No more. I am totally reformed in my thinking of the Freezer Puff!

This peaches and cream strudel is so colorful and packed with flavors I can’t wait till my family tries it! In fact, my husband’s birthday is coming up so I might just wait until then for an extra special treat to take into work.

Seriously ..skip the donuts and cupcakes! When you can create something so amazing in just a short amount of time, why buy something?

Plus, if you have peaches or can get fresh from the tree fruit at a farmers market, you will be bowled over by the taste!

This is what Jo of Jo Cooks has to say about her recipe.

Trust me, these strudels will make you happy, juicy peaches and a creamy cream cheese filling all wrapped nicely in a puff pastry with some toasted almonds on top? It’s all good! Perfect summer flavors and a guaranteed winner!

Quick Tip: If you can’t find great peaches go ahead and use nectarines.

So Good You Might Want to Wear a Tiara to eat this!

Have you ever made something so yummy you felt it should be served on fine china and a fancy fork? Well, what is stopping you? Go ahead and make this delightful cake, a perfect treat to go with coffee

Go ahead and make this delightful cake, a perfect treat to go with coffee or tea. The only thing you will have to worry about once this comes out of the oven is if people would like one lump or two.

A few years ago I went to a small town White Elephant Sale that raised funds for the local volunteer fire department. The old building was packed with treasures! Old linens, tea cups, platters, books, and one year I bought an old steamer trunk.

As much fun as it was to go, I think buying a few older pieces would be a shame if I didn’t use them once in a while. I love getting out the old dessert plates and real silverware forks to serve dessert on. It makes it seem extra special. And if you have someone over for coffee, I think that is a great reason to just slow down and break out the good china.

You may even find yourself saying “quite nice” and another spot of tea sounds smashing!

I just had a little tea-party with my granddaughter. She LOVED that I served dried pineapple and goldfish crackers. It was kind of an impromptu tea so anything we put on the tiny plates was great. the next time I go to their house I will have to take my mini bundt pans and make this! She will be over the moon thrilled!

This recipe comes from Epicurious. com who had this to say about their cake.

This can also be made with white nectarines, or about six large plums or pluots. It’s great with ice cream or whipped cream.

GO TO THE NEXT PAGE FOR INGREDIENTS AND DIRECTIONS.

Quick TIp: This is a great little cake to bring to an event beause it doesn’t need to be frosted. Easy transportation! and if it is warm outside you dont have to worry about the icing getting runny!

WOW! I did not know there was a National Day set aside just for Peach Pie. Celebrating that one for sure!

Ever since I learned how to make a decent pie crust I have really fallen in love with pie baking! Peach pie is one of my favorites.

A few years ago I toured one of my friends’s peach orchards. She is a 4th generation peach farmer in California.
We picked peaches off the tree and that night I made a pie. It was HEAVENLY to say the least. I didn’t add ice cream or shipped topping. Just mouthful of tree sweetened peaches baked between a flaky crust.

Oh My..There is ALWAYS time for Pie!

Being able to pick fruit that has been allowed to ripen on the tree is so much better than buying it green and having it ripen on the counter in your kitchen. The sugar content is a whole new ball game when you buy fruit directly from a farmer or at a farmer’s market.

When you are making pies or jam, don’t worry it there are a few blemishes. My daughter-in-law and I just bought a box of peaches that were considered 2nds but was exactly what we needed for making jam and cost half of full price. Now I wish we had picked up two boxes so we could have made a few pies!

This is what my great grandfather used to say about homemade pies.

There are only two kinds of pie I like. Warm or cold. :~D

Quick Tip:At first I was a bit nervous about making the lattice crust but then I read that making the lattice crust helped the moisture from the fruit evaporate and helped the crust to not get soggy.

If I had a nickel for every cold or reheated pancake I have eaten over the last three decades…I think you get the picture.

Growing up, my dad loved making big pancake breakfasts. It was not unusual for him to stand over the hot griddle making edible pieces of art that looked like Sponge Bob on water skis or a replica of our 1970 Suburban. It was fun, but it was also a mess.

As a mom, yeah, I don’t really have time for that part. It isn’t that I am opposed to pancakes, even though I tend to be more of a waffle girl, it just seems like a lot of work and the person on the end of the spatula is the last to eat since eating them “hot off the griddle” so the butter melts is important.

This recipe isn’t nearly as fun as my dad’s creations, but much more practical since it is something I make for our family.

There is nothing like waking up to the smell of something freshly baked coming out of the oven to rouse sleepy teens and this is perfect if everyone needs to leave the house in a hurry.

This recipe is awesome to reheat and can be kept for several days in the fridge for breakfast the following day or for you Lord of The Rings peeps..Second Breakfast!
To be totally honest we love having a “Breakfast For Dinner” option on our bi-weekly meal plan. Served with hash browns, bacon, and sliced fruit, you can have a wonderful Brinner…which is breakfast and dinner together. Not a real word, but you get the idea.

Here is what the cooks at Celebrating Sweets has to say about this breakfast recipe.

Here’s what’s amazing about this pancake casserole: you essentially make a big batch of buttermilk pancake batter flavored with vanilla and a touch of lemon zest. Rather than using the batter for individual pancakes (and standing at the stove and flipping, flipping, flipping…), the batter gets poured into a casserole dish, topped with blueberries and brown sugar crumble, and BAKED in the oven! Easy peasy. And the end result is wonderful! Breakfast just got 100 times better.

GO TO THE NEXT PAGE FOR THE INGREDIENTS AND DIRECTIONS.

Quick Tip: Don’t have fresh blueberries? Go ahead and use frozen berries, OR use whatever fruit is in season. I love diced apples or peaches in my breakfast bakes so get a little crazy and try your families favorite combos.

Want to know the secret of this Note Worthy Dish? Day Old Bread.

Okay so this recipe might not actually be a huge news story, but the fact that you can enjoy breakfast with your family and friends without having to stay in the kitchen cooking, is a big plus in my play book.

I love being able to serve up a hot meal for breakfast but who really has the luxury of time first thing in the morning?

This recipe is one that can be made ahead so all you do it pop it in the oven the next morning and by the time you have poured your first cup of coffee this twist on a breakfast classic is close to being done!

I also love that there is fresh fruit in this dish. If you don’t happen to have peaches, try nectarines, berries, or even plums. It is your breakfast, try whatever suits your taste!

This is what Erin of Well Plated had to say about her simple breakfast dish.

Last weekend, one of my best friends from Minneapolis and her boyfriend visited. We spent a lazy morning enjoying this Peach Overnight French Toast. While our guests praised its creamy vanilla custard filling and juicy cinnamon peach topping, the hurried hostess (yours truly) cherished it for the fact that 100% of the recipe prep was completed ahead, so in the morning, she could relax and spend time with her guests, instead of rushing around the kitchen.

Quick Tip: For an extra tangy flavor, toss some dried cranberries into the mix.

Ice Cream That You Can Make In Your Blender Is The Bomb!

I remember the sound of the ice cream freezer as it churned the fresh ingredients. The sound of ice crunching with rock salt to get just the right temperature. It seemed to take forever. Adding more ice. Then salt.

Finally when the churning was done the top would be covered with an old towel or newspapers. The ice cream would need to finish freezing before the paddle was removed and the first scoops could be placed in bowls of those anxious for this timeless summer tradition.

If you are at an Ice-Cream gathering, it is fun to watch everyday people become homemade ice cream connoisseurs. Each recipe varied just a tad. Some are purists in their approach. Plain vanilla is topped with warm fudge sauce and sprinkled with nuts or sliced strawberries.

Some are purists in their approach. Plain vanilla is topped with warm fudge sauce and sprinkled with nuts or sliced strawberries.

Others add in their favorite ingredients such as crushed Butterfinger bars, fruit, caramel, or mint flavoring and chocolate chips.

We haven’t made ice cream since the motor wore out on our small freezer. When I saw that we can make fresh fruit ice cream right in the blender I was so excited!

This is what Melisha of Finding Time to Fly says about this cool recipe!

Are you ready for the easiest Peach Ice Cream recipe you’ll ever find? Not only is it easy, but it’s quick! You can also control the sweetener and kind of milk used, so it’s adaptable to many different diets.
