No time for breakfast? Think again!

This easy breakfast is the best idea since sliced bread. I totally get that sometimes we don’t have time to actually sit down and have a hot meal, especially when everyone running in different directions first thing in the morning.

I have heard over and over again that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. To be honest, this breakfast is way too easy to skip. It is the perfect grab and go food that combines all the best breakfast food in one little package consisting of more food!

You could buy a tray of  breakfast-ables that have a some grapes, a few crackers, and a hard boiled egg in it. However,  it probably has a shelf life of about 3 weeks.

Isn’t’ something fresh a better way to roll?

The answer to that is YES. Now, I am not going to say that my kids would have eaten this breakfast every day of the year because they love having choices but this is definitely something that would have been a regular on the menu.

This is what Natalie has to say about this fast food from home recipe.

Our oldest is obsessed with french toast. He requests it on an almost daily basis. Our youngest would rather eat eggs and sausage. But like many of you, our mornings are rushed and I don’t always have time to make a big hearty breakfast. So this was my solution. Quick, easy and surprisingly tasty!

Quick Tip..You can also use turkey sausage.

There is something wonderful that happens when you sink your fork in a flaky biscuit that is swimming in sausage gravy. Heaven on your fork.

Biscuits and Gravy are one of my husband’s favorite food. He orders it almost every time we eat breakfast out. Why? Because it is filling and, if made right, savory. While there are tons of options, he looks over the menu carefully. I always know he will still pick the biscuits and gravy.

Recently we were in Ohio visiting family and met with several of his cousins at Bob Evans. As expected he placed his usual order. The biscuits were so flaky and tall, I didn’t think he was going to eat everything on his plate, then again it did come with two eggs on the side. But he managed.

In fact, John’s birthday is coming up. I better head to the store and get the fixin’s for this breakfast. He will love it and so will your family when you make it for them as well.

The best part is that you can make biscuits from a can, or go ahead and make them from scratch. No judgement here!

This is what Krissy of Self Proclaimed Foodie has to say about her recipe. I have to admit I plan to make my biscuits from scratch, but Krissy even makes her own sausage. Talk about hard core cookin’. You rock Krissy!

There are not many comforting and delicious breakfasts than homemade flaky buttermilk biscuits smothered in some perfect Country Sausage Gravy.

Quick Tip: Cutting it close on time? Go ahead and cook your gravy the evening before so all you have to do its put the biscuits in and heat up the gravy. Eazy Peazy!

Lemon spread that is so good you might want to just eat it off your spoon.

The first time I heard about Lemon Curd I thought the person was kidding. I mean really? Who would name anything you put on toast something so yucky.

After I tasted it I didn’t care what they called it, I just needed more. Taking it a step further I decided to make my own so here is my recipe.

I couldn’t help but notice lemons in the road near where we lived. I thought a truck might have spilled some of it’s load. The next week I noticed a few more.

When I looked up, I realized there was a house at the top of a long driveway across the street and also at the top, was a lemon tree.

A few weeks later I saw a man , parked at the end of the driveway, getting his mail. I quickly ran over and introduced myself.

“Hi,” I began. “We are new to the neighborhood. I noticed you have a lot of “road-kill” lemons and I happen to cook.” Which was pretty obvious since I was wearing an apron. “I was wondering if I could pick a few lemons before they roll into the street.”

The man smiled.. “You can pick anytime.”

We quickly realized we were going to need to make one..or two more batches really soon. Thankfully the neighbors tree was full of the bright yellow citrus.

When we added a little cream cheese and spread it on a piece of fresh bread it was amazing.

One of the best things to do is find someone with a lemon tree. Introduce yourself, and remember to share.

A taste of California sunshine in a jar.

Quick Tip: You can eat this fresh, use it in recipes, or can it for later. I actually give this to family and friends as a small gift.

Want to know the secret of this Note Worthy Dish? Day Old Bread.

Okay so this recipe might not actually be a huge news story, but the fact that you can enjoy breakfast with your family and friends without having to stay in the kitchen cooking, is a big plus in my play book.

I love being able to serve up a hot meal for breakfast but who really has the luxury of time first thing in the morning?

This recipe is one that can be made ahead so all you do it pop it in the oven the next morning and by the time you have poured your first cup of coffee this twist on a breakfast classic is close to being done!

I also love that there is fresh fruit in this dish. If you don’t happen to have peaches, try nectarines, berries, or even plums. It is your breakfast, try whatever suits your taste!

This is what Erin of Well Plated had to say about her simple breakfast dish.

Last weekend, one of my best friends from Minneapolis and her boyfriend visited. We spent a lazy morning enjoying this Peach Overnight French Toast. While our guests praised its creamy vanilla custard filling and juicy cinnamon peach topping, the hurried hostess (yours truly) cherished it for the fact that 100% of the recipe prep was completed ahead, so in the morning, she could relax and spend time with her guests, instead of rushing around the kitchen.

Quick Tip: For an extra tangy flavor, toss some dried cranberries into the mix.
