The Best Pasta Dish Hack I Have Seen and Is So Simple!

Do you ever wonder how restaurants like Olive Garden seem to nail it on all their dishes? I do! I often find myself looking at the plate of food before eating it just to see if I could recreate something similar in my own kitchen. I have been close, but there was always something that I wasn’t getting. Until now.

I had remembered to add all the ingredients but it still wasn’t the same. When I read this recipe I realized what I was missing.  I needed to know how to cook it. Utilizing the pasta water creates a sauce that clings to the ziti noodles like two lovers at the airport terminal saying goodbye.

Gone are the days of dumping plain pasta into a bowl and spooning over the sauce over it which just slides off into the bottom of the bowl. Why does it matter? Because the starch in the pasta cooking water emulsifies with the fat in the sauce causing it to naturally thicken. Brilliant and so easy to do from now on.

I still love going to Olive Garden once in a while, but it is nice to know that I can create something wonderful for those around my dining table any time I want.

GO TO THE NEXT PAGE FOR INGREDIENTS AND DIRECTIONS.

Quick Tip: Serve with asparagus tips, along with a salad and bread sticks.

The aroma of this simmering just says..come on in and grab a bowl!

I love the taste of a good stroganoff. Truth be told, I grew up with it being made with ground beef and my adult children make it that way as well. But my stroganoff is also made with a cream of mushroom soup. It is a thick gravy like topping to rice or noodles.

While I love the flavor, it can be on the heavy side. My problem is that it is so stinkin’ good that I tend to eat more than I should!

When I saw this recipe I knew I had to try it. All the flavor without all the calories. So much lighter and better for you. On the crisp evening when you just crave something to warm you from the inside out, this just might be your go to recipe.

Sometimes just the smell of this can bring everyone into the kitchen asking when dinner is ready.
When our son in the Army was coming home on leave, guess what he requested for his first dinner home. You got it soldier! I love that our kids have their favorite food that remind them of home. This one is at the top of the list.

When our son came home from overseas he was so happy when I fixed this. I asked if it was as good as he had been dreaming about and he replied it was better.
That is when you know you need to pass the recipe down so they can someday make it for you.

This is what Amy from Belly Full had to say about this family favorite.

Classic beef stroganoff is transformed into a hearty, yet light soup. And no need to cook the noodles first, because it’s all made in one pot. Easy weeknight dinner!

Quick Tip: Several of our kids do not like mushrooms so I saute then and put them on the side for my husband and I to add later. It isn’t that I am catering to them.. I just don’t want my mushrooms to be undervalued!

The ground beef patties smothered in the a rich tomato-tangy sauce is the perfect thing to serve when you just are not sure what to serve.
Recently I bought super lean ground sirloin for 3.99 a pound! Now that makes a difference in the family grocery budget.
Plus it just tastes great. Add a side of mashed potatoes and a vegetable Sunday Dinner is served?

Everyone loves it and many even ask for seconds.
This is what the peeps at Delish.com have to say about this great recipe.

One bite is like being back home on the ranch.

A new twist on an old classic.

Being  able to order a pizza and have it delivered right to your door definitely has it’s perks. If you are a bit behind and studying, working, or taking care of other little people, then you know that the thought of hand tossing some fresh dough might be a bit out of the realm of reality.

But, even great pizzas that you can have practically hand carried to your table isn’t the same as making it yourself.

First of all i love the smell of the fresh bread as it is baking. Add the ingredients in and oohh baby you have something yummy in the oven!

But as much as I love the traditional tomato paste base sauce and pepperoni there is more out there that needs to be discovered.  This pizza is just like the one our son and daughter in law created when we went to their house for dinner.

Of the two kinds of pizza, traditional and this white sauced one, this one was the first one to get eaten.

This is what Megan says about her very tasty pizza recipe.

The white sauce on this pizza is nice and garlicky without being overly strong, and the chicken and herbs give the pizza lots of flavor. It was even good as leftovers the following day, which is important in our family – we love leftover pizza!

Quick Tip: No time to cook up some chicken? Go ahead and pick up a rotisserie chicken?  You can put all the left over meat in the freezer for next time.

Make it Egg-citing! Make this the night before!

I am not going to say that I spend my nights dreaming of a breakfast casserole that is as delicious as it is easy, but I DO dream of the days when the busy-ness of life doesn’t crowd out creativity.

This is another great casserole I am planning to put in y recipe file to make for the week. Seriously, if you know that your week is hectic, sometimes it is nice to know that breakfast is almost ready. If you divide this into muffin tins or even small loaf pans, you can freeze them for later.

This is what Anna from Garnish with Lemon has to say about this breakfast recipe.

Let’s start with the obvious question: what makes this a fireman’s casserole?
I have no idea.
My mother in law, Cathy, got the recipe from a community cookbook, so maybe we can assume it came from a fireman or fireman’s family? Regardless of its origin, this recipe for Fireman’s Overnight Breakfast Casserole is a delicious, make-ahead option

Quick Tip:  If you like things a bit on the spicier side you can use medium or hot Italian sausage.

You Don’t Have to Dread The “What’s For Dinner?” Question Ever Again With This Recipe.

I think just about everyone has heard of “Murphy’s Law” where everything that can go wrong usually does.

That pretty much sums up the dinner hour for many moms. We have so many hats to wear and things to juggle that at the end of the day I am tempted to pour a bowl of cereal for everyone, slice some bananas on top and call it good.

Pulling something together at the last minute that doesn’t require getting half the pots and pans out is a dream come true.

Knowing that my family will love this and I can make enough for left-overs is even that much more of a reason for me to breathe a sigh of relief. There may even be a slight smile across my face when I tell my hungry crew that by the time someone fixes the salad and sets the table, I will have the main dish hot and ready. Teamwork is the best way to get things done.

This is what Alyssa of The Recipe Critic says about this creamy one skillet dish.

I promise that you guys are going to love this meal just as much as we did!  I have been perfecting this creamy sauce for so long and it is literally amazing.  All of my chicken skillet dishes have been getting such rave reviews I know that you are going to love this one too!

GO TO THE NEXT PAFE FOR THE INGREDIENTS AND DIRECTIONS.

Quick Tip: As soon as you start this dish go ahead and put some rice on. If you add a little chicken bouillon and scallions to your rice it really dresses up your simple side dish.
