Grab an extra napkin…This Sandwich is literally dripping with flavor.

These are one of the most popular things at the potluck, right next to Jell-o and tater tots!

I remember the first time after we moved from California to Minnesota that someone invited us over for Barbeques. “Great!” I exclaimed in my sheer ignorance of cultural diversity. “I love barbecued chicken!”
My new neighbor looked at me, unsure of what to say. The awkward silence that followed was, to say the least, awkward. “No..” she said. “We are having Barbecue. As in cooked hamburger with other things added in, warmed up in a crockpot and served on a hamburger bun.”\
“Ohh,” I said, unsure why something cooked on a stove and kept warm in a crockpot was called a Barbeque. “Sloppy Joes! I love those too!”
We took over the sliced watermelon and ate Barbeques with our new friends because no matter what they are called, they were delicious. I was sorry I didn’t ask for her recipe but when I ran across this one, it looked like it could be pretty darned close!

This is what Rachel of The Stay At Home Chef has to say about her family favorite, crowd-pleasing recipe.

I was in charge of a meal for a family reunion this summer. When I told my mom I wanted to make sloppy joes she seemed a bit surprised by my casual meal choice, before she realized I’d be making MY sloppy joes.

Quick Tip: Try serving these on small rolls or Hawaiin Rolls. They make great sliders! Perfect for any party, gathering, or potluck.
