No Matter What You Call This, It Is a Hit In Our House!

A few years after John and I got married John’s mom gave us a super thoughtful gift. She had one of John’s favorite recipes that was still on the index recipe card and had it framed for us. We have moved us several times and some of our decor has changed but one thing we have had with us is that framed recipe card.

I love the bent edges and the smeared writing in the corner, but what I love most are all the memories we have made while eating one of these amazing breakfast dishes. Truth be told I love this for brunch. It is super light and is the perfect way to hold your family favorite topping. Sometimes we just squeeze fresh lemons over the top and dust with powdered sugar.

I know one year I had several of my daughter’s friends at our house for a week. I think those girls ate more “Poofta” in one week than most Americans eat during their lifetime. Yes, it really is that good and so easy you will probably find yourself wanting to make this more often. Think of a crepe only a baked!

I don’t know if it was the Poofta, the fact that they had stayed up all night sharing  girl talk, or just being together, but it was Yes, it really is that good and so easy you will probably find yourself wanting to make this more often. Think of a crepe only a baked!

This is what Maria of Homemade living has to say about her Paula Deen Inspired recipe.

This Dutch Baby pancake is baked in the oven and is deliciously light and airy, and tastes so good with a generous dusting of powdered sugar and topped with sweet and juicy cooked apples!

Quick Tip: If you want to use other fruit, go right ahead..peaches, nectarines, black berries.

My dad is known for his pancake making skills…you can be too!

He can make anything from rocket ships, farm animals and even add in words. It is a talent that he possesses that few people, unless you have been to their house in the morning or camping  with him even know.

I remember one year we had to make our own pancakes based on the stripe of paper that we drew from my mom’s hat.

There were items like a camera. race car, guitar, turtle, and then, the one I drew.

When I looked at the paper, I crumpled it up and announced I was no longer very hungry. I couldn’t have drawn something  like a balloon. I was the lucky person who drew Richard Simmons. Yep. Sweatin’ To The Oldies Guru himself, immortalized in a light and lemony pancake.

I worked hard on that little masterpiece. I looked as good as it tasted.

Try this recipe, your family will love it,minus the part about having to do the batter work.

This is what Ree has to say about doing some of the prep work for this recipe.

First things first: zest a couple o’ lemons. They’ll make your kitchen smell like Heaven, and wait’ll you see what the zest does for the pancakes!

Quick Tip: I love crepes, but don’t always have time to make those thin crapes.  The Lemony goodness just melts in your mount it really is that sweet.
