I wish I had thought of this!

I loved making fun food for our kids when they were growing up and now that I have little grands I can’t wait to make this for them!

What a cute “Pool Party” themed treat!

And how easy it that to just make the Jell-o in clear cup? This makes for a super fun treat at a park where glass is not allowed!

Just seeing this made me start humming, “If you go our in the woods today, your in for a big surprise…” From “The Teddy Bear’s Picnic”!

This is what Jamielyn of I Heart Naptime had to say about her friend Katie’s cool pool idea.

Party… these little guys make a great summer treat! Refreshing Jello and a dollop of whipped cream make for a yummy treat everyone will love!

Quick Tip: Make sure that kids are old enough to handle the umbrellas. If questionable, just leave them off.

“There are three responses to a piece of design~ yes, no, and WOW. Wow is the one to aim for.” Milton Glaser

One of the things I did when our kids were younger was to get them involved in the kitchen. I would wash their hands, put on their little aprons, and pull stools next to the counter for them to sit on.

It was a time to talk, to share, to teach, and a time when they felt the satisfaction of producing something they felt proud of and shared with others. It isn’t an easy thing because it does take time and energy, but it was worth every second.

One of the benefits is in the math department. When you are doubling a recipe a youngster can see for themselves as they measure out ingredients that 1/2 plus 1/2 does NOT equal 1/4, but rather 1 whole. Measuring out vanilla or salt is also key, 3/4 plus 3/4 is not 6/8. Well, you get the picture, and thankfully so does you little kitchen helper.

As someone who struggled with math growing up, I loved being able to offer a hands-on approach to learning with my kids.

Finding recipes that are easy enough for the youngest of cooking enthusiasts to help with isn’t always easy, but this one is a sure hit.

Here is what Dan at Cakes Cottage has to say about his fun recipe.

Summer is so close and the hot temperatures, are already in full swing where I live, and I have NO desire to crank up my oven. That’s where this No-Bake Summer Berry Icebox Cake comes into play!

Quick Tip: If you don’t have blueberries and strawberries, feel free to swap in another fruit such as banana and raspberries. I love the patriotic feel of this cake, but if you are serving this at a baby or bridal shower it would be easy to stick with a color theme.
